You create the schedule that meets your family’s needs. Visit lengths range from a few hours to 24 hours per day. Whether it’s an occasional visit, regular visits a few times per week, every day, or overnight care, we can accommodate almost any schedule.

While some schedules require more than one caregiver, we strive to have as few caregivers assigned to a client as possible. We feel consistency is an important part of building a strong relationship, and a key component in providing exceptional care.

Generally, visits are a minimum of four hours, although we frequently accommodate shorter visits depending upon the circumstances. Please give us a call to discuss your particular situation. Services are provided by either a homemaker or nurse aide and include:

Homemaker / Companion

  • Companionship, emotional support and recreational activities
  • Light housekeeping and laundry
  • Transportation to medical appointments, social or religious activities
  • Plan and prepare meals, including special diets
  • Grocery shopping and errands
  • Supervise household maintenance – gardener, housecleaning service, plumber, etc.
  • Medication reminders
  • Pet care

Nurse Aide

Live-in care is a good solution when assistance and companionship are needed around the clock. Live in care can be an alternative to nursing home care in some instances, and allows people to age in place.

 

HOW IT WORKS?
Our aide stays in the client’s home for continuous 24-hour shifts (called per diem shifts). We monitor our live-in caregivers with spot checks, reviews, and regular meetings. Typically, to avoid caregiver burnout, we have a team of two caregivers working either three days or four days of back-to-back per diem shifts.

Live-in care is appropriate when:

  • There is a separate bedroom for the caregivers’ use
  • The client generally sleeps through the night
  • The caregiver can be in another room doing household chores part of the day, and the client can be left unattended(with the caregiver in the home).

 

Live-in Services Include:

  • Companionship, emotional support and recreational activities

  • Mobility – Ambulating, transfers and exercises

Respite Care:

We can help you take some time for yourself and feel confident your loved one is well cared for. So often, we hear about a family caregiver who is so completely focused on their loved one that they neglect their own physical and emotional health.

The demands of providing long-term care are very high. Taking time for yourself is essential to staying healthy, energized, and able to maintain a positive attitude.

Whether it’s a week-long vacation or a relaxing afternoon, our experienced, caring staff can provide the respite care the devoted family caregiver needs and deserves.

Transportation:

Our transportation services can be tailored to your needs.

Doctor Visits
One of our caregivers will pick up your family member and bring him or her to their appointment. We can stay in the waiting room during the appointment, or go in the see the doctor to serve as an advocate for your loved one. We complete a report so that the family will know of any diagnoses or instructions. We can even pick up any prescriptions on the way home.

Social Outings
Our caregivers can accompany your loved one to such events as weddings or family reunions. This allows everyone to enjoy themselves, confident that all personal care needs will be met.

Travel
Our experienced staff can travel with you and provide assistance. Visiting a relative in Florida and need a hand getting there? We can help.

Other Outings
We can escort you on other outings such as:

  • the hairdresser
  • grocery shopping
  • the library
  • lunch with friends
  • the mall
  • the movies
  • vacation
  • Any place you want to go!

Medication Reminder Calls:

Home Careolina is happy to offer this service to our clients for FREE.

We offer an automated system which places up to 3 phone calls per day to our clients, to provide medication reminders or inquire if they are in need of assistance.

HOW IT WORKS?
This is a totally automated service. Our system will call your loved one at the predetermined time and say: “Hello, this is Home Careolina calling. It’s time for you to take your medication. Have you taken your (medication names)? If yes, say “Yes” or press 1 on your touch tone phone. If no, say “No” or press 2 on your touch tone phone.” If your loved one says “Yes” or presses 1, our system says “Thank You. Good Bye.” If your loved one says “No” or presses 2, we say “Please do so at this time. Thank You, Good Bye.”

For each of the Medication Reminder Calls, you select the specific time of day the call is to be made. You can select up to 6 medications for each call, and they can be different medications for each of the calls. Our system will attempt to reach your loved one 3 times at approximately 10 minute intervals for each Medication Reminder Call. If unsuccessful, no message will be left, and our system will immediately call the designated Contact after 3 failed attempts for each reminder call. We will also send an email to the Contact if their email address has been provided to us.

 

You can still provide this wonderful service to your loved one, even if you are not a client of Home Careolina. Pricing is as follows:

  • One Time-Specific Call per day - $9.95/month
  • Two Time-Specific Calls per day - $14.95/month
  • Three Time-Specific Calls per day - $19.95/month

Wellness Check Calls:

Home Careolina is happy to offer this service to our clients for FREE.

We offer an automated system which places up to 3 phone calls per day to our clients, to confirm that they are comfortable, and inquire if they are in need of assistance.

 

HOW IT WORKS?
This is a totally automated service. Our system will call your loved one and say: “Hello (loved one’s name), this is Home Careolina calling. Are you well today? If yes, please say “Yes” or press 1 on your touch-tone phone. If no, please say “No” or press 2 on your touch-tone phone”. If your loved one says “Yes” or presses 1, our system will say “Thank you, Good bye”. If your loved one says “No” or presses 2, our system will say, “I will call (contact’s name) immediately. Good Bye.”

Three (3) attempts will be made to reach your loved one. On the first two attempts, if our system reaches voice mail, an answering machine, or does not receive an answer, our system will disconnect. On the third attempt, if our system reaches voice mail or an answering machine, our system will leave a message that says: “Hello, this is Home Careolina calling. We have attempted to reach you 3 times today and have been unable to do so. We’ll call (contact’s name) immediately. Good Bye.” Our system will immediately notify the designated Contact by phone of our inability to reach your loved one. We will also send an email to the Contact if an email address has been provided to us.

You can still provide this wonderful service to your loved one, even if you are not a client of Home Careolina Home Care. Pricing is as follows:
